Hello sweet friends- today I wanted to share a session I did recently with a family I have come to really adore. The session began with something like this...
Yep. Oh how I laughed. I photographed this love bug a few weeks ago when baby brother was still in the womb and though he didn't show too much interest in my camera the first time around, he certainly was intrigued on this particular day (I came to photograph the new baby). He said "Me" and stood right in front of the camera. I'd press the button and show him his face on the back of my camera and we'd do it again. and again. and again. So of course this is how I had to begin this blog piece before moving on to this family's newest addition. Stinkin'. Cute. Now... be prepared to oooooooh and aaaaaaaah because well, baby. enough said.
Can one ever tire of photographing baby toes?
No. The answer is no.
And can we just talk about how cute it is when he pulls his little knees in?
Mama mentioned to me how much she loved the little rolls on her new babies back, so of course I had to capture them. When baby needed a change, I snuck into the other room and convinced brother to read me a story.
But then the dirty diaper coast was clear and I got to spend a few minutes with mama and baby in their room.
And I'm fairly sure every photographer in the world will agree with me that when your client welcomes you onto a bright screened in patio, you rejoice for the gorgeous light you are about to work with. I did.
Playtime with big brother and family time in the living areas rounded out our lifestyle session and this family simply has my heart. The following is what lifestyle is all about. It doesn't take a perfect home. It doesn't require fancy clothes. No posing allowed. This is family time; Just the way they want to remember it. Papa is proud, Big Brother is Loving and Mama is Patient... all is right in this home and I left feeling calm. That isn't always the case when you spend an hour with a newborn!
My heart is so incredibly grateful for knowing families such as this one. Families that ask me to capture truth and love. Congratulations on your growing family, I am proud to know you and to have been a part of documenting this day.
