Something I love about working for myself is the ability to travel. I spent some time in Dallas recently, where I have a few clients and where many of my family members live. I knew that during my trip, one of my highest priorities was to photograph my Uncle playing guitar because I wanted to have them for my own memories. My Uncle introduced me to the Beatles, I don't really remember those moments in particular, The Beatles were more of just an overall theme for my Uncle; the two were synonymous to me. On the day I took these, my Aunt and I were chatting, enjoying a glass of wine downstairs when I heard him starting to play. I quickly excused myself, grabbed my camera and snuck upstairs to catch the moment. He wasn't overly amused, but he let me keep snapping anyway! This is how I think of my Uncle, so it's nice to have an image (or two... or three, okay.. a ton) that matches the memory in my mind.
"There's nowhere you can be that isn't where you're meant to be."
"And when the night is cloudy, there is still a light that shines on me. Shine until tomorrow, let it be."
"In my life, I love you more."
"Take a sad song and make it better"
"All you need is love"
"You may say I'm a dreamer but I'm not the only one"
"Life is very short & there's no time for fussing & fighting my friend"
"Listen to the color of your dreams"
"I get by with a little help from my friends"
What are some family moments you'd like to have documented? Who influenced your musical taste the most? I would love to hear from you in the comments below!
Until next time,
